AVENGED recently premiered a music video for its latest single, “So Far Away”, which is a tribute to the band’s late drummer James “The Rev” Sullivan, who died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.

Following Sullivan‘s death, the band recruited his favorite drummer, ex-DREAM THEATER member Mike Portnoy, to record the drum tracks for its latest album, “Nightmare”, and tour with the band through 2010.

The group recently recruited new drummer Arin Ilejay, who has also recorded a new song with the band called “Not Ready To Die” for the Call Of Duty: Black Ops video game.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD will be on tour in Europe and Australia throughout June, July and early August before coming home to headline the Rockstar Uproar Festivaltour, which will kick off on August 26.

“End To The Lies”, the new video from JANE’S ADDICTION, can be viewed below.

To direct the clip, the band enlisted the help of ShadowMachine Films (Adult Swim‘s “Robot Chicken”) to create a visually stunning piece of art.

“I’m really happy to work on this video for ‘End To The Lies’ with Alex [Bulkley of ShadowMachine Films]. He clearly gets what JANE’S ADDICTION is about and the roots of where we came from. We came up in a very artistic community,” said guitarist Dave Navarro. “This video encompasses that through merging L.A. streets and street artists with sexuality and the beauty of music. There is no better way to define what this band has always been about.”

JANE’S ADDICTION‘s new album, “The Great Escape Artist”, will be released in August through Capitol Records. The CD was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Rich Costey (MUSE, FRANZ FERDINAND, INTERPOL), with TV ON THE RADIO‘s Dave Sitek on the team. Sitek, best known for his production work on TV ON THE RADIO, YEAH YEAH YEAHS and THE FOALS, is writing, programming, and playing bass on the album. The band, with Chris Cheney on bass, will be touring throughout 2011.

Guitar Center, the world’s largest musical instrument retailer, announced that JANE’S ADDICTION will be inducted into the historic Guitar Center RockWalk in Hollywood on Wednesday, June 1 at 12 p.m PST. Band members Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins will be inducted in a special ceremony at Guitar Center Hollywood, 7425 West Sunset Blvd., with RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE‘s Tom Morello giving the induction speech.

Guitar Center RockWalk is dedicated to honoring those artists who have made a significant impact and lasting contribution to the growth and evolution of rock ‘n’ roll, blues and R&B. JANE’S ADDICTION‘s handprints will reside alongside the handprints, signatures, and faces of other accomplished musicians and innovators including Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Elvis Presley, Carlos Santana, Johnny Cash, VAN HALEN, AC/DC, Bonnie Raitt, AEROSMITH, Carl Perkins, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, B.B.
