. On Monday Cheap Trick Go To Austin City Limits was a top story. Here is the recap: Cheap Trick helped Austin City Limits bring in the New Year with a rock n’ roll bang.
They appeared on the first episode of the venerable PBS series in 2011. The hour-long show featured a variety of tracks from the band’s career.
The program was taped back in March of last year and finally saw its release this past weekend. – You can check out the Full Show here
The first in a series of webisodes featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the new SEPULTURA album can be viewed below.
SEPULTURA has tapped Roy Z. (JUDAS PRIEST, HALFORD, BRUCE DICKINSON, HELLOWEEN) to produce the group’s new CD, tentatively due in May via Nuclear Blast Records. The album will once again be recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil.
SEPULTURA debuted a brand new song from its upcoming album during its October 17, 2010 appearance at the Fúria Festival at HSBC Brasil in São Paulo.
SEPULTURA performed its classic 1991 album, “Arise”, in its entirety during the group’s headlining performance at the 16-year anniversary of the Manifesto Bar in São Paulo, Brazil on December 11, 2010.
SEPULTURA will return to North America for a massive headlining tour next April/May in support of their upcoming Nuclear Blast Records debut. Joining them will be a veritable united nations on metal in the form of Austria’s BELPHEGOR, Norway’s KEEP OF KALESSIN, Poland’s HATE, Canada’s NEURAXIS, and California’s BONDED BY BLOOD. Starting May 23, Seattle’s own NEVERMORE will replace BELPHEGOR to finish out the tour.
THE DAMNED THINGS — the new band featuring members of FALL OUT BOY (Joe Trohman, Andy Hurley), ANTHRAX (Scott Ian, Rob Caggiano) and EVERY TIME I DIE (Keith Buckley, Josh Newton) — performed the song “We’ve Got A Situation Here” on last night’s (Thursday, January 13) episode of ABC-TV‘s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (which actually aired early Friday morning, January 14). You can now watch video footage of the group’s appearance below.
“Ironiclast”, the debut album from THE DAMNED THINGS, sold 6,200 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 1 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
“Ironiclast” was released in North America on December 14, 2010 (one day earlier internationally) via Island/Def Jam.
THE DAMNED THINGS will guest on the nationally syndicated radio show “Rockline” with host Bob Coburn on Monday, January 17 at 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET. Fans are encouraged to speak with THE DAMNED THINGS by calling 1-800-344-ROCK (7625).

“It’s gratifying,” Trohman recently told MTV News about the fans’ reaction to the new group. “I love the band and love the record, and everybody else in the band loves the band and loves the record, and that’s, first and foremost, the most important thing to me. And we all have made music in the past partly for ourselves and partly for other people, so it’s nice to see people digging it whether they want to or not. … I’m actually happy to see that there’s people that really, really like it, or don’t like it, because of the fact that we’re able to invoke some sort of strong feeling. It’s a good thing, I think.”
“We’ve Got A Situation Here”, the first video from THE DAMNED THINGS, was written and directed by Brendon Small, the co-creator of Adult Swim‘s “Metalocalypse”.
THE DAMNED THINGS is:
Keith Buckley: Lead Vocals
Scott Ian: Rhythm Guitar, Vocals
Rob Caggiano: Rhythm, Lead Guitar, Vocals
Joe Trohman: Rhythm, Lead Guitar, Vocals
Andy Hurley: Drums, Percussion
Josh Newton: Bass
