Gimme Fifteen Minutes, I’ll Rock Your Ass Off Courtesy of new RUSH, HALESTORM and DEVIL’S TRAIN!

The new single from the long-awaited new Rush album, ‘Clockwork Angels,’ is here, and let us tell you… it rocks! The song, titled Headlong Flight,’ clips along at a brisk pace nearly from start to end. Rush haven’t sounded this emphatic and dynamic in a long while.

‘Headlong Flight‘ was one of those songs that was a joy to write and record from beginning to end,” bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee tells Rolling Stone. The song’s origins date back to a jam session prior to the group’s ‘Time Machine’ tour of 2010. “Alex and I assembled the song to be an instrumental,” Lee explains, “Its original title was ‘Take That Lampshade Off Yo Head!,’ but once we saw the lyrics Neil [Peart] had written, I knew that the spirit of the lyrics matched the instrumental perfectly and it was just a matter of making them fit and writing the melodies.”

The song clocks in at over seven minutes, and is full of the incredible playing we’ve come to expect of the triumphant trio. Guitarist Alex Lifeson in particular can be found cutting loose on some amazing six-stringed mayhem. The band will hit the road in support of the album in the fall, and a list of reported (but not confirmed) dates can be found right here. ‘Clockwork Angels,’ Rush’s 20th album, is set for release June 12th.

HALESTORM‘s new album, “The Strange Case Of…”, sold 24,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 15 on The Billboard 200 chart. The record arrived in stores on April 10 via Atlantic.

HALESTORM singer Lzzy Hale told The Pulse Of Radio that the band is often in awe of its fans’ devotion. “We’ve experienced some absolutely out-of-their-minds rock fans, and I have to say that with the utmost respect,” she said. “You have to respect the crazy ones, and the ones that will drive six hours to see a 30-minute set or camp out in the wintertime to get their ticket. Seriously, it’s a huge part of what we do and it’s a huge part of what any band does.”

According to Lzzy, fans are “going to be hearing and tasting a lot of different sides of HALESTORM” on “The Strange Case Of…”, adding, “It’s us really not boxing ourselves in. On our last record, we were trying really hard to make sure everything is consistent, that there was a theme, everything was on 10. With this new one, we just kind of let it be what it was going to be . . . this record is a lot more human than the last record. I decided to be brave on this record and go to all extremes.”

Hale told The Pulse Of Radio that the writing process for “The Strange Case Of…” was split in two distinct halves. “We went into it right off the road, so the first half of the record that we wrote was very… We were writing some of the most aggressive songs that we’ve ever written, I’m screaming my head off, you know,” she said. “And then halfway through, started writing some of the most personal songs that, you know, we’ve ever written, and some things that I’ve never talked about before, and it’s interesting — there’s two definite sides and very real sides to what we do and who I am.”

Hale also said about the new disc, “With this record, we had just a better concept of our fans and a lot of what we did was inspired by them and the feeling that we got during our live shows.? Also, the music is bridging the gap between what we do live and what we can do in the studio.”

“The Strange Case Of…” follows up HALESTORM‘s acclaimed 2009 self-titled debut, which featured the hits “I Get Off” and “Familiar Taste Of Poison”.

“Sweet Devil’s Kiss”, the new video from DEVIL’S TRAIN — the band featuring MYSTIC PROPHECY mainman/producer Roberto Dimitri Liapakis Liapakis, STRATOVARIUS drummer Jörg Michael, guitarist Lakis Ragazas, and SYMFONIA/ex-STRATOVARIUS bassist Jari Kainulainen — can be seen below. The song comes off the group’s self-titled debut album, which was released on February 17 via earMUSIC/Edel. The CD was recorded at Prophecy and Music Factory studios with the production team of Liapakis and Christian Schmid.

DEVIL’S TRAIN is a project Liapakis had been working on with Greek guitarist Lakis Ragazas for a year and as soon as Michael heard it, he asked to become part of it as the group’s drummer.

Commented Liapakis: “I am rock and roll down to my veins and I always had diverse influences in my music, a great part of which are expressed in the music I write with MYSTIC PROPHECY. However, the style of music I have been preparing for DEVIL’S TRAIN with Lakis Ragazas isn’t the style that would fit MYSTIC PROPHECY and this is why I decided to initiate a side band. Luckily, other people with whom I have common musical background share my vice for rock ‘n’ roll and Jörg, as I found out when we toured together [in] January [2010], is one of them.”
