DOUBLE SHOT OF MY FAVE NEW VAN HALEN TUNES, SHARED WITH YOU.
I’ve been listening to a fair amount of the new VAN HALEN album A Different Kind of Truth this week and if I had to give it a rating on the scale of 1 to 10 I would give it an 8.
In comparison to other Diamond Dave led VAN HALEN albums I’d say it’s as good as Fair Warning better than Diver Down but not as good as the first three VAN HALEN long players: Van Halen I, Van Halen II, and Women and Children First. All three are must have’s if you are a serious hard rock and metal music collector.
A Different Kind of Truth is a surprising return to the good old days while adding some updated sounds and tricks. Wolfgang Van Halen is quite good on this album and adds a different layer of background vocals and style of bass playing. He seems a bit more acrobatic and technical in his playing.
Although the thing I miss the most from the new VAN HALEN are the unmistakeable background vocals of Michael Anthony and the hammering bass work. While it’s not a deal breaker it is noticeable.
In honor of one of the greatest hard rock quartets of all-time and their near gloriuos return I would like to share my three favorite new songs from A Different Kind of Truth.
I hope you enjoy as them much as I have.
