TWO GREAT NEW SONGS FOR YA! “DIFFERENT DEVIL,” #17 WITH A BULLET! SEBASTIAN BACH’S “TUNNELVISION.”
Two weeks after its release, “Different Devil”, the new single from CHICKENFOOT, the supergroup featuring guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer Chad Smith, former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony and frontman Sammy Hagar, is already at #17 with a bullet on the Mediabase Mainstream Rock Chart and #7 on the Mediabase Classic Rock Chart.
For a recent reader’s poll by Ultimate Classic Rock, editors asked fans which single they preferred — CHICKENFOOT‘s “Different Devil” or VAN HALEN‘s newly released “Tattoo” — and a 60 percent of the readers chose “Devil”.
The band, which recently earned a Grammy nomination in the “Best Recording Package” category for the creative 3D design of their recent “Chickenfoot III” (eOne Music/earMUSIC/Edel) album, is wrapping up a successful European tour, with more U.S. dates to be announced soon.
CHICKENFOOT recently wrapped a sold out 2011 Road Test Tour that took them through San Francisco, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Chicago and New York with a stop for a performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” In each city along the tour, Hagar made a donation to a local food bank in a special partnership with Feeding America to encourage fans to do the same to help fight hunger, an important message that he also intended to convey through the music video for “Three And A Half Letters (I Need A Job)”.
The first single from “Chickenfoot III”, “Big Foot”, debuted at #1 on the Mediabase Classic Rock Chart, holding the position for 11 weeks.
“Chickenfoot III” debuted at #9 on The Billboard 200 chart and follows the band’s 2009 debut album, which entered the chart at #3 and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association Of America for shipments in excess of 500,000 copies.

Bach says, “I have known Jason for years, ever since he tried to pickpocket me at the Rainbow [in West Hollywood] aeons ago.”
Bach will kick off a short run of North American dates tomorrow night (Wednesday, February 1) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Bach‘s “TunnelVision” video can be seen below. The clip is one of three videos that the singer filmed on June 28, 2011 in Hollywood, California with director Devin DeHaven of Fortress Entertainment (PAPA ROACH, WHITESNAKE, METHOD MAN, TALIB KWELI).
“TunnelVision” comes off Bach‘s new album, “Kicking & Screaming”, which sold 6,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 73 on The Billboard 200 chart. The singer’s previous CD, “Angel Down”, opened with 6,400 units back in November 2007 to debut at No. 190.
