COVERDALE PAGE – A MUST HAVE FOR YOUR COLLECTION

Did you know David Coverdale (WHITESNAKE/DEEP PURPLE) and Jimmy Page (LED ZEPPELIN, THE YARDBIRDS, THE FIRM) did an album together back in the early 90’s?

Yeah. They did, and it was good. Very good. No, excellent is a better word. One of the best hard rock/metal albums of 1993.

Denny Carmassi of Heart on drums.

Jorge Casas of Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine on bass! Really, seriously!

And what an album!

The guitar work singularly sensational. I don’t think there has been anything before or after that’s sounded the way Jimmy Page made his guitar sound on that disc.

David Coverdale adopted more of a growl approach while still singing through the growl and it lends an edge to the music that nothing like his work in WHITESNAKE and DEEP PURPLE has.

Rock steady and rock hard drum work from the ever reliable hard rock master drummer Denny Carmassi who has played on classic tracks like Montrose’s “Rock Candy,” Sammy Hagar’s “I’ve Done Everything for You,” and Heart’s “What About Love.”

Lending a a bit of salsa/rock rhythm is Jorge Casas (MIAMI SOUND MACHINE) on bass.

It’s an odd mix of musicians but they really found a spark in the studio for this release and for your very first taste of COVERDALE/PAGE here is a little

Pride and Joy
