The recordings for “Rev-Raptor” took place between June 2010 and February 2011 at Roxx studios (owned by U.D.O. guitarist and ex-ACCEPTdrummer Stefan Kaufmann) in Pulheim, Germany. The CD was mastered byManfred Melchior at MM Sound Digital studios in Steinhagen, Germany. The album’s cover artwork is once again a comic-like motif: but the“Dominator” character is this time “a lot more effectual and colorful,” according to a press release.

“Rev-Raptor” was originally scheduled for release in January but was delayed by the back problems experienced by Kaufmann, the same issue that forced him to quit playing drums for ACCEPT back in the day. Stefanrecently received medical treatment for this condition and had recovered enough to have played with the band on November 6, 2010 at the Rock Antenne festival at Schwabenhalle in Augsburg.

U.D.O.‘s last album, “Dominator”, entered the official chart in Germany at position No. 27. This marked the highest German chart entry in U.D.O.‘s history.

Jay Nanda of the San Antonio Metal Music Examiner conducted an interview with guitarist Mike Martin of Massachusetts metallers ALL THAT REMAINS prior to the band’s April 29, 2011 concert at Sunken Gardens Theater in San Antonio, Texas. You can now watch the chat below.

ALL THAT REMAINS‘s “The Last Time” video was filmed on January 30 in Chicago, Illinois with director Nathan “Karma” Cox (LINKIN PARK, BLACK VEIL BRIDES, MARILYN MANSON). The song comes off ALL THAT REMAINS‘ latest album, “For We Are Many”, which debuted at No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart while also coming in at No. 1 on the Hard Music Albums chart.

“For We Are Many” sold 29,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The band’s previous CD, “Overcome”, opened with just under 29,000 units in September 2008 to enter The Billboard 200 chart at No. 16.

“For We Are Many” was released through a joint venture betweenProsthetic Records and Razor & Tie. The CD was recorded last spring atZing Studios in Massachusetts and produced by KILLSWITCH ENGAGEguitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, who also helmed ALL THAT REMAINS“This Darkened Heart” and “The Fall of Ideals”. Decibel magazine called the album, “Proof that neck-snapping tempos, thoughtful soloing and a catchy chorus or three can co-exist,” while Outburn magazine remarked, “If there was ever any question as to whether ALL THAT REMAINS deserved to be considered among the melodic metalcore elite, ‘For We Are Many’ will dispel any lingering doubts once and for all.”

“The Taking”, the new album from DUFF MCKAGAN’S LOADED, sold 2,300 copies  in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No.  12 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the
best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have  never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. The group’s previous album,  “Sick”, opened with around 1,400 units back in April 2009 to debut at No. 43 on
the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart.

Released on April 19 via Eagle Rock Entertainment, “The Taking” was recorded at a Seattle-area studio with
veteran rock producer Terry Date (SOUNDGARDEN, PANTERA, DEFTONES). Two tracks from “The Taking”, were previously made available digitally.

Anthemic rocker “We Win” was played  during the World Series and riled up football fans  for McKagan‘s hometown Seattle Seahawks. “Fight On” draws inspiration from our military veterans,  and proceeds from these downloads go exclusively to the Puget Sound Healthcare System.

“This record really sort of took a life of its own, and the  songs really revealed themselves to us as we went along,” says Duff.

Terry Date came into  the picture at a time when his genius ear helped to capture a sonic theme for  the record.

“You can’t underestimate  what a guy like TD brings to the  table.

‘The Taking’ is the closest thing to a ‘concept’ record  that I have ever been involved with. Pain, loss, triumph, and redemption. Life.  Bring it.”

“The Taking” track listing:

02. Executioner’s  Song
03. Dead  Skin
04. We Win
