STONE SOUR‘s video for “Hesitate” was filmed on September 20, 2010 in Los Angeles with director Paul Brown (JACK WHITE/ALICIA KEYS, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, JOHN MAYER) and directing collective Beta Movement/Skulley FX.

Taylor said that “Hesitate” is one of the standout tracks on the latest STONE SOUR album, “Audio Secrecy”, for him. “It’s a bittersweet song, ” he said. “It’s about letting go of something that you want with all your heart that you know is just gonna do nothing but damage to you. And it takes a special kind of heart and a special kind of courage to do that. And not a lot of people have that kind of courage.

“They would rather sit in a relationship for years and wallow in it because they’re afraid of being alone. And this is about having the courage to say, ‘You know what, I’m getting away. I’m gonna be on my own, and I’m gonna be OK.’ And those first few steps are the worst, but once you get each foot in front of the other, it’s a lot easier.”

METALLICA guitarist/vocalist James Hetfield will join filmmaker Justin Hunt at the San Rafael California Film Institute in San Rafael, California on Thursday, March 3 in presenting and discussing the award-winning documentary “Absent”, exploring the worldwide crisis of absent and disengaged fathers and the negative impact that the “father wound” makes on society.

According to Rockville Magazine, “this topic is of interest to Hetfield since his own father abandoned his family around the age of 13. The METALLICA frontman was interviewed for the film, sharing his personal struggles of dealing with father abandonment issues and how he strives to be a positive father for his three children.”

“A lot of the METALLICA music that is so important to millions of people comes from his father wound,” Hunt told the Marin Independent Journal. “With James, or any other guy, for that matter, it’s a validation issue. If you don’t have a father to teach you that you’re man, you’ll spend your entire life trying to prove it.”

In the film, Hunt had Hetfield recite the lyrics to some of his most personal songs, including “Dyers Eve” and “Where The Wild Things Are”.

“With ‘Dyers Eve’, it’s like hearing him read a letter to his mom and dad, and there’s an anger there,” Hunt said. “In ‘Where the Wild Things Are’, he’s talking to his daughter about where his father wound came from and how he’s trying to break that cycle, becoming a better parent to his kids.”
